Based on Ayurvedic tradition, the following Ayurvedic treatments are offered after receiving a full or brief Ayurvedic consultation or a Vikriti pulse assessment to determine your current Doshic state or influences ($15 – add
15 minutes to the service length.) The information gathered during the consultation or pulse assessment will then determine the herbs, oils and methods that will be used to best serve you in your treatment. After receiving an initial consultation or assessment, the Ayurvedic treatments can be scheduled without further evaluation. You may consider adding a brief consultation or pulse assessment before a treatment, occasionally, to monitor your Doshic balance.

Ayurvedic Massage – A personalized massage using oils, herbs and techniques specifically designed to balance the Doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha – body/mind type and condition), open your Srotas (channels of circulation), support your Dhatus (bodily tissues) and activate your Nadis (energy currents.) This therapeutic treatment, offered by one therapist or two therapists working in a rhythmic synchronized manner, addresses both the physical and energetic bodies, assisting all systems in repairing and renewing themselves.

Shirodhara (Constant Flow of Oil to the Head) – A simple, yet profound treatment, where warm, Dosha specific oils and herbs are streamed over your forehead, balancing the Ajna (Brow) and Sahasrara (Crown) Chakras (subtle energy centers or wheels.) This blissful therapy is traditionally used for the benefits of deep relaxation, rejuvenation, balancing the effects of excess Vata and calming the conditions of increased Pitta.

Vata Reducing Abhyanga (Abhyanga – Anointing with Oil or a Massage)– A nourishing and grounding treatment using long, slow strokes with generous amounts of warm, doshic specific oils, along with smooth, round stones that are comfortably warm. This anchoring and restorative treatment is designed to balance the influences of the Vata Dosha, such as excess activity, leaving you focused and peaceful.

Udvartana (Body Polish with Upward Strokes) – An exfoliating lymphatic massage using a gentle body polish made of fragrant herbs, flowers and grains. This refreshing treatment helps to stimulate circulation, increase your metabolism and improve muscle tone, while leaving your skin soft, smooth and supple. Udvartana may be applied wet or dry and uses balancing ingredients specific to your Dosha or Doshic influences. A light Abhyanga (applying oil) follows this luxurious treatment.

Baspa Svedhana (Sweating through Heat and/or Steam) – A cleansing practice in Ayurveda to aid in the elimination of toxins through the skin, stimulating the immune system and increasing metabolism. A medicated oil scalp massage is performed while you relax in a steam cabinet filled with rejuvenating essential oils.

Champi (Indian Head Massage) – A wonderfully relaxing therapy that involves a massage of your upper back, shoulders, neck, head and face, while you sit comfortably in a chair. This massage provides relief from stress symptoms, stimulates circulation of your scalp, enhances mental clarity and gives you a deep sense of tranquility.

Garshana (Rubbing – Dry Massage)– A traditional Ayurvedic dry massage using natural fiber gloves or a brush with sweeping strokes over your body to exfoliate your skin, enhance circulation and encourage elimination of toxins. As this stimulating treatment aids lymphatic drainage, it assists in reducing cellulite deposits and improves the oxygenation of bodily tissues. Garshana is an invigorating and energizing treatment on its own or as preparation for a massage to assist the absorption of the oils and herbs. A light Abhyanga (applying oil) follows this stimulating treatment.

Tarpana (Ancestral Remembrance) – A practitioner guided ceremony based on the forgiveness, gratitude and healing of your relationships. Using breathing techniques and visualization, it is a cleansing, centering and liberating process for your mind and emotions.

Pizichilli (Oil Flowing over the Body) – A “royal treatment” in which two therapists pour a continuous stream of warm oil over your body, while their hands follow in a synchronized pattern. This luxurious massage is deeply relaxing, as it soothes your muscles, relieves mental tension and balances your nervous system. The wonderfully rich oil massage is followed by a warm towel treatment to deepen the penetration of the oil and remove any excess oil.
Two Therapists - 1 ¼ hours - $250
Pinda Sveda (Bolus used to Induce Sweat) – A deeply nurturing and detoxifying treatment using linen bags filled with a decoction of cooked grains, herbs and milk. After applying oil on your body, the warm boluses are used in a firm massage that creates heat and induces sweating. In this rejuvenating massage two therapists work in a methodical and rhythmic manner to help relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, enhance joint mobility and assist elimination, thereby restoring vitality.

Mukhabhyanga (Dosha Facial Treatment) – A rejuvenating facial massage using freshly prepared fruit, vegetable, flower and herbal ingredients that are mixed according to your Dosha or Doshic influences. By assessing the balance of the Doshas, an appropriate treatment is provided to nurture your skin, tone facial muscles and increase circulation. Your neck, shoulders, hands and feet receive a light massage during this beautiful sensory experience, leaving your skin and your sprit glowing.

Nasyakarma (Nasal Action) – A traditional Ayurvedic treatment which begins with a shoulder, neck, and facial massage to relax tension and facilitate the nasal administration of warm herbal oil. Your nose is a gateway to brain function, mental activity and the flow of prana (vital life force.) This unique therapy aids in clearing and lubricating your nasal passages, opening the sinuses, enhancing your sensory organs and enabling the balanced flow of prana. Nasyakarma is particularly beneficial when received for seven consecutive days on a seasonal basis.
